Notices, 27 February 2017

01 Feb 2017 (9) 01 Feb 2017 (4)Dear Parents

The first term is well under way now and the students are settled and working well.  This week, I will be conducting P.A.T. standardised testing for students in Years 4 to 10.  These tests are a useful indicator to monitor each student’s progress against national averages.    Results from these tests will be discussed with you at Parent Interviews later this term [see upcoming events for dates].

Thank you to those families who were able to attend our barbeque and parents meeting last Tuesday.  We welcomed the Cavanagh family to our school.  We also talked about the good things we are seeing happening in the lives of our students as they grow, not only in their academic progress, but also in character and in God’s grace.  We talked about our desire to grow our school.  For our first initiative for this, we are seeking to raise the profile of our school via Facebook.  You can assist this process by “liking” and [preferably] “sharing” any posts that you like on our Facebook page.

Next week, we have visits scheduled from two different missions.  Pastor Phil Pawley from Morrinsville Baptist Church is walking a Hikoi from Cape Reinga to Bluff, promoting the story of Tarore’s Book and Luke’s Gospel as an evangelical outreach.  He will be staying with my family overnight and I have invited him to speak to our students at Tuesday morning assembly, 7 March.  Later on that same Tuesday morning, we also have Trevor Clarke from New Tribes Mission, coming to speak to our children about the work of NTM.  Trevor and his wife gave an inspirational presentation last year, and we are looking forward to their return visit.

FOS Meeting, Tuesday, 28 Feb, 7.30 to 9.00 pm

Don’t forget we have our first Friends of School meeting for the year tomorrow night.  Please can we have a representative from each family at this meeting.

Maintenance donations due this term, please.
Each year, we ask families to contribute towards lawn-mowing and cleaning costs.  You can choose to make this payment as a tax-free donation of $50 by the end of March or, if you prefer, an amount of $57.50  [this includes GST] will be billed with your end of term account.
School Fees for 2017

Please remember that school fees have increased from 1 January 2017 as follows:

  • 1 child  $72 per week [$144 fn]
  • 2 children $126pw {$252 fn]

If you have not increased your bank automatic payment yet, please can you do this as soon as possible to avoid building up a backlog of fees due.  Thank you.

  1. Andrea Orchard says:

    Hi Peter
Can Natalia join in with practices and both athletics days please? The Cullens/Everson/Orchards will probably carpool our children for these events, so sorry we can’t commit to extra transporting of kids.
Could we also come in to listen to the two speakers on Tuesday, if it’s open to others? If so, could you confirm times of both the New Tribes and Pastor Phil speaking. We will head to library or somewhere in between if there is a gap, so as not to disrupt your programme. Thanks Peter. Andrea
