Students, parents and grandparents, and local home schooling families gathered at the school with an eclectic array of animals to be judged; lambs, goats, calves, dogs, piglets, chickens, and even some goldfish!
In the days leading up to Pet Day, the students had been busy preparing craft activities for competition, too; poetry, handwriting, dioramas, floral entries, and vegetable creations were all on display for visitors to admire.
Sausages were sizzled, tea and coffee were served, toffee apples stuck in our hair, and sunshine was soaked up. It all made for something of a carnival atmosphere.
Local farmer, Tony Hargreaves, was our animal judge, and Di McLaren judged the craft exhibits. Sponsors ANZ Bank, FMG Insurance, Advance Dairy & Pump, and Erbil Kebabs all provided support by way of funding or prizes.
Thank you, also, to Suzanne Partridge for organising this event and to Jodi Browne for organising the food stall.
Everyone enjoyed the day, even the animals!
